soup kitchen is an establishment which offers free meals to the needy.
The soup kitchen concept dates to the 1700s, when religious charities
first began providing the poor in their districts with free, highly
nutritious food which often took the form of soup and bread. In the
1800s, the soup kitchen concept spread widely until today where they
are popularized enough to become a permanent and vital part of society.

The soup kitchen caters to the poor and needy in our community. Visitors to a soup kitchen,
however, do not need to meet any eligibility requirements. We serve to
anyone from anywhere without question.
does it cost to eat at the Soup Kitchen?
There is no cost to eat at the soup kitchen.
runs the Soup Kitchen?
The soup kitchen is run and staffed by volunteers who cook the food, serve it, and clean up.
Donations from the community are also vital to keep the soup kitchen running.
Like any food serving establishment the soup kitchen must meet all Board
of Health food serving guidelines.
can I help with
the Soup Kitchen?
Volunteers are needed for the organizing committee of the Soup Kitchen.
Meetings are once a month.
We are looking for at least 2 teams of 6-7 people to prepare and cook meal, so they can alternate weeks.
Time 11:30AM - 6:00PM
We are also looking for at least 5 teams of 7-9 people for the setting
up of tables, serving, bussing, dish washing, tear down, cleaning of
floors, and taking care of garbage.
Time 4:00PM - 6:30PM
